Azure Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Working with a project team, design, implement and configure secure Azure service solutions addressing industry, regulatory, and customer cybersecurity requirements
  • Lead application/infrastructure cybersecurity threat assessments using STRIDE model
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of existing and emerging Azure capabilities
  • Develop and update scripts for resources deployment and configuration
  • Identify appropriate monitoring levels and enable proactive application and system monitoring capabilities
  • Maintain Azure cloud performance dashboards and reporting
  • Draft SOPs for performing routine maintenance and administrative tasks
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization through presentations and one-on-one training sessions
  • Research and apply vulnerability remediation as required
  • Research and remediate issues for cloud security, cost, compliance, and performance
  • Learn and expand your capabilities as part of a dynamic growing organization

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in a technical field – preferably Computer Science
  • 2 – 3 years working with Azure in a system engineering role
  • Knowledge of Azure fundamentals and capabilities with a particular focus on networking and cybersecurity
  • Azure certifications such as Fundamentals, Administrator
  • Experience doing cybersecurity risk assessments using the STRIDE model, familiar with NIST, CVEs
  • Strong technical skills – proven ability to navigate/understand/use APIs, query databases, solve common problems
  • Passion for learning with an ability to quickly design/develop solutions
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage your time and get stuff done without sacrificing quality

Required Background and Experience

  • Background in the healthcare, medical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience/knowledge of ISO 27001
  • Experience using an ISO 9001/13485 certified or similar quality program
  • Additional Azure certifications focused on DevOps and Security

Technical Skills

  • Azure expertise in designing, and configuring complex secure solutions using API Gateway (firewalls), API Management, App Services, Function Apps, SQL Server database, Storage Accounts, KeyVault, virtual private networks, general networking, etc.
  • Expertise in scripting languages to automate Azure deployments, configurations, and tasks.
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Experience in agile methodologies and use of JIRA
