Backend Test Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop test plans, cases/scripts and data to insure the proper functionality of medical/healthcare systems
Execute test cases/scripts paying particular attention to the data
Be part of an R&D group testing innovative medical/healthcare solutions
Develop an understanding of human biology and medicine to understand the data
Learn and expand your capabilities as part of a dynamic growing organization
Use ChatGPT and similar tools to be more efficient

Requirements & Qualifications

4-year college degree in a technical field – preferably Computer Science or Data Science
3 – 4 years of experience as a backend software tester with an emphasis on data
Experience working in the healthcare and/or medical domains
Experience with SMSS and/or other tools for querying databases and viewing the results
Experience writing, developing, and executing complex data-driven tests
Have a good understanding of databases and data workflow
Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, test methodologies and tools and a passion for quality processes
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage your time and get stuff done
Proactive in tracking issues and reaching out to necessary teams to help with the testing effort.
Ability to go with the flow and understand change is a constant

Required Background and Experience

Good understanding of healthcare/diabetes, medical device, and clinical data – not claims data
Experience with biometric/medical device data and/or time series data – preferably with blood glucose, blood pressure, EKG, and/or brainwave data, but experience with other time series data such as weather, stock trading/pricing will be considered

Technical Skills

Time series data analysis
Ability to understand and explain database ER diagrams, understand relationship between tables and how to access the data
Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries in a relational database
Strong functional, integration and system testing experience
Data Auditing/Reconciliation experience is a must
Have good experience working with web-based apps and API
