Digital Medicine Society Launches New Platform to Validate Digital Health Apps with DiMe Seal

The Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) has introduced an innovative platform to certify digital health products, awarding the “DiMe Seal” to applications that meet foundational standards for privacy, security, usability, and clinical impact. This certification aims to help healthcare organizations and patients navigate the complex digital health marketplace by identifying quality software.

Health developers can apply for the DiMe Seal through a detailed online assessment that evaluates compliance with industry standards, such as SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, and ISO 27001. DiMe’s framework, crafted in collaboration with over 150 industry leaders, enables efficient and standardized validation of digital health applications—a major improvement in an industry with over 400,000 consumer-facing tools.

Over 150 developers have already joined, submitting tools for evaluation ranging from glucose-monitoring apps to platforms for digital patient interventions. The DiMe Seal offers healthcare providers a reliable way to assess applications, addressing a pressing need in the crowded digital health market. DiMe will also introduce a benchmarking database later this year, allowing detailed comparisons of digital health products across therapeutic areas and regulatory statuses.
