Elon Musk's Neuralink Secures Canadian Approval for Groundbreaking Brain Chip Trials
Elon Musk’s Neuralink has received Canadian approval to begin clinical trials for its brain chip implant, which enables individuals with quadriplegia to control digital devices through thought alone. Conducted at Toronto’s University Health Network, the trial will assess the safety and functionality of the implant, marking a significant step in Neuralink’s mission to help patients regain independence.
Already tested in the U.S., the device has shown promising results, including enabling a patient to play video games and design 3D objects using only their mind. Neuralink also aims to expand its applications to restore mobility, communication, and even vision, further solidifying its role at the forefront of neurotechnology innovation.
