Business Analyst Quality Assurance

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Software Business and Quality Analyst to join our healthcare project team. This hybrid role, which focuses on requirements and quality testing, plays a critical role in analyzing business processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and delivering high-quality healthcare software solutions through our software quality assurance process.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, technical proficiency, understanding of software quality assurance, and a passion for improving patient care through technology.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

Requirements Gathering & Documentation:

  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to understand healthcare business needs, workflows, and compliance requirements.
  • Elicit, document, and prioritize detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop Requirement and Design Documents, Use Cases, and process models.
  • Act as liaison between clinical staff, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate healthcare needs into technical solutions.

Process Improvement:

  • Analyze healthcare workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, or gaps.
  • Propose and document process improvements to optimize patient care, operational efficiency, and data security.

 

Quality Assurance

Test Planning & Execution:

  • Design test plans as well as oversee the design of test cases and test scripts specific to healthcare applications, including EHR systems, lab systems, and billing platforms.
  • Oversee and participate in the execution of functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) with a focus on healthcare-specific scenarios such as clinical workflows and patient data management.
  • Conduct API testing for healthcare integrations such as HL7 or other interoperability standards.

Defect Tracking & Reporting:

  • Identify, log, and track software issues using JIRA.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of combined experience in business analysis and quality assurance within the healthcare domain.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and issue tracking systems (ex. JIRA)
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and GDPR.
  • Basic SQL knowledge for querying healthcare databases.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent business and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) or other healthcare platforms.
  • Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT).
  • Certification in healthcare-related disciplines (e.g., CPHIMS, CBAP, ISTQB).
